Juwads Journey

          Juwad loved picking lettuce.  Everyday he dreamed of picking lettuce like his father.  He loved lettuce so much that he hopped the boarder with his nine brothers and sisters to pick lettuce with his father.  His father told him that he would have to wait another month before he could start to work.  He was sad but he was too anxious to be sad for long. 

          About three weeks later Jorge, Juwads dad, came home and said that he could start working.  Juwad was so happy that he jumped for joy and shook his one room apartment.  He was so happy that he started dancing around the room.  Now he could finally fulfill his life long dream.

          Juwad went to work with his father.  He was so happy that he cut and packed 25 boxes in 3 hours.  When Juwad went home he practiced picking lettuce using big balls of tape filled with rocks.  Juwad was so good that he was promoted to the box loader.  This was less work and all he had to do was load boxes onto the trucks.  Even though it was easier he chose to stick with picking the lettuce.

          Juwad grew up to be the best lettuce picker ever.  One day at the end of the workday, the manager went over to Juwad and gave him a packet of lettuce seeds and told him to use it well.  Juwad moved back to Mexico and started his own lettuce farm and he was never happier.
